MY PIE COOK BOOK

I never in a million years thought that I would write a cook book. It wasn’t something that was even on my radar, that is until recently. I posted a pie picture on my facebook page and a woman, who I use to teach in church as a young girl, responded that I should write a cook book. At first I thought, that’s not for me. But she had planted the seed and the more I thought about it the idea seemed to take hold.

At first I thought it would be pies and other desserts and then I decided to focus entirely on pies. I mean after all, IT IS WHAT I DO. I find that pie baking is somewhat of a lost art and that makes me a little sad. I had a customer several years ago who really opened my eyes to something that I hadn’t thought about. She had never in her life had a homemade pie.  How can that be I thought. But as it turns out, it can be.

I was fortunate to grow up in a home where pie baking was just the norm. I was also fortunate that in my home, grandma and mom were excellent pie bakers.  I didn’t do much baking as a girl at home, but I did do a lot of watching.

I’m excited to share my knowledge with others. I want people to make pies and see how really easy it can be with the right tools and the right recipes. I want them to know the joy of making something with their hands that brings a smile to all who eat it. I want them to experience the feeling of accomplishment.

Like all things, it takes a little practice, but the more you do it the better you get. Isn’t that the way it is with all things in this life. I will keep you updated on how the cookbook is progressing and how you can get a copy.  Thanks Celeste for planting that seed and challenging me to write MY PIE COOK BOOK
